Location: Sydney, Australia
Left Nambucca 9.00am straight thru to Sydney's North Shore. We put the Satellaite Navigation on and it was a breeze getting thru the traffic without having to worry when to change direction so we settled in for Xmas
Location: Na,bucca Heads, Australia
Time to Head south to Sydney for xmas so we have headed off along the Pacific Hwy. Usual holdups till we reached the NSW border.
First stop The Humble Pie at Billynudgell for coffee and one of their beaut pies. Lot of Roadworks around there, will be great when finished.
We were heading for Nambucca Heads for an overnight stop. We had booked in at Marcel Towers which are units right on the river. With all the roadwork we were able to call in at a couple of places off the road on the way
Location: Cania Gorge Monto Qld, Australia
We headed to Cania Gorge in September after our Darwin friends recommended it from one of their trips.
It is situated about 30 kms. NE of Monto in central Qld. We turned off the Pacific Hwy. after Gympie and thru Kilkivan on the Burnett Hwy. The road was good and we sat on the 100 without any trouble .
Stopped for lunch at Munduberra and off to Cania National Park.
The caravan park is a Big 4 and is actually in the national park.
The amenities were great and combine that with Damper morning teas, Bird feeding, Movies at night [all for free] and close proximity to all walks you couldn't ask for more.
A little animal called a Bettong comes around at night but very shy and hard to get a good photo.
Our cabin was on the bank of Three Moon Creek which was full of water birds plus all the local birds .Cattle wandered along a track at the side and not friendly . We were glad it was 21 steps down and fenced.
The walks were well signed and good walking . National Parks put out a brochure on them for all distances with recommendations of how tough they are.
We had a great 3 daysat probably the best time of the year temperature wise and we will be going back to see more
Location: Glasshouse/Bribie Island, Australia
On not the best day for touring or photos we decide to take a run around place that might interest our southern visitor without going too far. After a run around Bribie Island we headed up to the Glasshouse Mountains. the misty rain didn't make the views that spectacular.
We commented on the work going on at a new lookout only to find out the Prime Minister was coming the following week to declare the mountains a heritage area.
The next day we took our friend down to the Gold Coast where she stayed with rellies before returning to Sydney
Leaving Nambucca and headed for home. Had lunch in a little park at the Yaamba turn-off. Home about 5.30 pm ready to show our visitor some Qld Sites.
After a week of local area we headed off to Hervey Bay Qld.
Stopped outside Gympie for smoko and then on to Hervey Bay .
We had a very nice unit right opposite the beach and if you liked a short walk it was close to everything.Catching dinner a couple of nights just in front was a bonus.
Took a run up to Bundaberg to see our friends who had also just moved into a new house . Lunch at the RSL overlooking the river a drive out to Bargara and then headed back to Hervey Bay.
We stayed a week up there and then headed home.
Nambucca to Sydney.
About 9.00am away from Nambucca and our next stop was Bulledelah where we found a rather quaint little cafe which puts on a great meal at lunchtime. Obviously was well known as they were doing a roaring trade. They also have a small antique shop out the back.
Back on the road again express to Sydney where our son and his wife have just bought a new house. We had bought a Tom Tom satelaite direction finder and in Sydney we were glad we had it .
Pleasantly surprised at their house which has views over the northern beaches.
Did some touring around using public transport most of the time. when it came time to leave we brought daughter in law's mother back with us for a Qld Holiday, and first night was Nambucca where we stayed for a couple oh Days at our favouriye units whuch we had booked on the way down.
Location: Nambucca Heads, Australia

Location: Darwin, Australasia
We had our plans of going to Sydney in May reorganised with an email from the daughter of our friends in Darwin inviting us to a surprise 70 th birthday party for her father. As they have been friends for more than 50 years we had to go.
His biirthday was 20th. May so we flew up on the morning and went to the party that night . The look on his face was worth it and a great night was had by all.
Family BBQ next day plus a run around Darwin to show us the city etc.Wehad lived there 35 years ago went back for a holiday4 years ago but things still change.
Caught the 1325 flight home on Tuesday after a great weekend.
Location: Mt Tambourine, Australia
It is about time we moved about for a while ,so we headed off to Mt. Tambourine for a couple of days. Called in at Cedar Ck Falls which were running well after the rain. Then spent the afternoon looking in the various galleries and vineyards in the area.
Headed for the Mt. Tambourine Motel which is comfortable even if it is a little run down but the views are breathtaking. Next door is the St. Bernards Hotel which is suffering the same problem. They have beautiful meals and the inside decor belays the outside. It comes with its own St. Bernard dog which is normally asleep at the door.
Next day off to Canungra and O'Reiilys. Good trip plenty to see, you need to be careful on the O'Reilly's road.
Day 3 headed to Kingscliff , Paridaso Resort for a few days.Called in at Natural Bridge for a bit of walking and take some photos. We set the navigator on Tourist route and it took us around the back of Murwillumbah thru farming areas and then thru Cudgen to Kingscliff.
Day 4 went for a drive along the coast. thru the new SALT Developmentat south Kingscliff, for the rich and famous . Then to Hasting s Point and on to Billynudgell to the Humble Pie for lunch. Decided to see what was west of the townand went thru various farming , nursery areas for about 15 kms. and then to Wyoung to pick up some fresh fruit and vegies and then to Kingscliff
Day 5 Packed up and Headed home..
Had a great time at Kingscliff. Accommodation was great and with breakfast supplied every morning made a good start to the day.
We went to Springbrook[ which has the longest 350m walk in Australia ]via Murwillumbah and came back thru Mudgereeba. Great views and the falls were just getting going again after a storm the night before. We travelled on route 26 and 41 which takes you thru the Tweed Valley.
Then next day headed down to Byron Bay which was very windy and very crowded . Development has spoilt the coastline in between but I suppose that's progress????
Came home via Fingal where we hadn't been for years
Took plenty of photos at all the places
Monday 7 th November was our 46 th wedding anniversary so took ourselves off to Twin Waters Resort at Mudjimba Beach ,Sunshine Coast.
Our youngest son and his family, who live at Mudjimba Beach came over for dinner, so a good time was had by all
After a quiet year we are now off to Kingscliff NSW Aust. for 5 days .We will be staying for 5 days at the Breakfree Paradiso Resort. Accommodation a bit hard to find down that way at the moment because of the Gold Coast Indy.
Hoping the weather stays good so we can get plenty of photos.
We aren't shore where to after that but have to be home by 1/11
