Location: Loehne, Germany

Today being East Sunday resulted in the shops and malls being closed so we went for a drive to see the high school that Carmel attended here. With not much having changed since attending the school in 2002.

We also went to see the local Water Mill in action in a cute little village. The village showed us how life was back in the days.

Easter is a very special time for the Germans and they go all out and have an Easter Tree which is just a small tree - generally outside where they hang empty decorated eggs to blow in the wind. There are shops that sell these beautifully decorated eggs or you can buy the color to do it yourself. It doesnt always come out like the box though. On the Saturday after Good Friday they have a Easter Fire which is basically a huge bonfire. You could see all the smoke from the fires when looking down on the city.

Location: Germany

Today is day 2 with Ilona and Thomas and there daughter Celine. She is so cute!!

This morning we went to a local Castle - ill try and find out the name of it so you can look it up on the net.

The local royal family still lives in this Castle today though we were unable to meet them. That would have been pretty cool though.

This Castle was built over 200 years ago and has been very well maintained over the years. The outside isnt much too look at, but the inside is amazing, especially the gold room. Also on the castle grounds is there own private Church that they still attend on Sundays as well as being open for private weddings too. The inside of this church is beautiful. Eleborate designs in gold are painted on the ceiling of the church. It is the only church to be decorated by a Italian decorator in Germany.

There are rooms in the castle for rent, though we couldnt figure out much though. Opps. I really should have learnt some German before coming here. Next time I will make sure I do.

Location: Vienna, Austria

Today we rode the public metro system, I so wish NZ would catch up with the idea and have one of our own. Here is great and so cheap to get around no matter how far anything is that you want to see.

We went to a jewellers place that was handing out flyers yesterday only to discover that they had only ONE size in their rings for sale so was rather dissapointed in that.

Tomorrow we are off to Fusion which is in Germany to see a castle will let you know what that looks like too.

Location: Vienna, Austria

Last night we boarded an overnight train from Venice to Vienna where we are spending 2 days in the cold. Well its not that bad, its only 2C but still when the wind starts to blow it gets rather cold rather fast.

We are becoming masters at the Underground Metro in each city as they are all very similar to London and Manhatten etc. Great and a rather cheap method of travelling too. Today we had a one day pass for only 4E each person which is for 24 hours.

There are lots of Churches here and most of them seem to be very pretty, I will add some more here with photos etc as soon as I can.

****Hope everyone is well, let me know if there is anything that you would like to know about. CHEERS****

Location: San Francisco, USA

I cycled the Golden Gate Bridge today and I even stopped on the bridge to take some photos. The views were incredible!! Lots of hills though to deal with along the way from Fishermans Wharf to Soulido. Lots of fun, I would recommend it to everyone!!

Well tomorrow im off to the UK to see Mum and Dad and Carmel too!!! Its been so long since I have seen them. Lots of travelling to see and do there. Hope all is well with everyone!!

Location: San Francisco, USA

I never realised there could be so many hills in one city. Well San Fran is that city. These aren't just little hills either, they are rather steep and go down and then back up again. I have discovered muscles that I didnt know existed!!

Alkatraz was amazing. Very old and rather smelly - a musty smell. There were some amazing views from the island to the city of San Fran.

I also went to Fishermans Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, China Town which has the most Chinese people in the world living in it outside of China. Union Square as well as the Westfield Mall which was rather spreadout and lots of fun. North Beach was amazing with lots of Italians and there very pretty language and lots of alochol too.

Location: Rochester, USA

WOW, only 2 more sleeps to go before I am leaving Rochester for San Francisco. I will spend 4 days travelling around and seeing some very interesting sights including Alkatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge as well as Ghiradelli - how I could I forget considering im the chocoholic!!! I will let you know how this goes.

Im finding it very hard to say goodbye right now to some amazing people that have made my stay here in Rochester such a wonderful amazing time. I have learnt so much as well as seen so much too. From Toronoto to New York and Washington DC it has certainly been an incredible experience.

My two little girls have grown up so much from the very first time I met them in October 2005. Kylie is now 9 years old and Robie is 11 and a very smart cookie I might add!

I have learnt to be free and to follow your dreams as well as to travel and see as much of this magical place you can while still young enough to enjoy it.

Live not as though
There are a thousand years
Ahead of you.
Fate is at your elbow
Make yourself good
While life and power are still yours.

Location: Rochester, USA

OK, I have been really slack on here. SORRY!!!

There is only 8 days left of my trip here in Rochester. On the 4th March I am heading to San Francisco for 4 days and then off to London.

I never realised how much shit that i have come up with and bought in my 18 months here in the US. This time has been great to me though. I have throughly enjoyed my time here though am sick of digging my car out of the snow. Oh well, you only get winter once a year.

Hopefully we wont get any snow storms between now and my leaving here. Fingers crossed anyway!!!

If there is anything you want to see or hear about just let me know. Cheers
