Location: Maine, USA

Jan and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend in Maine - starting with the Common Ground Fair (Maine Organic Farmer's and Gardener's Fair or MOFGA) in Unity. We then went on to Bangor and Bar Harbor for a quick weekend jaunt. The temperature was in the 70's and the foliage was starting to change. We have also taken up geocaching (see geocaching.com) and always plan to look for some caches while traveling. Here are some pictures from our weekend adventure!

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Jan and I took another adventure this weekend (thanks to Skybus rates) to Bellingham, Washington and then we drove into Vancouver where we went on a whale watch and then visited Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. (www.capbridge.com) What a great weekend we had, altho the temps were considerably cooler than Kettering. It was in the mid-50s and drizzling rain all weekend. The Pacific Northwest is amazing! The air just smells like a cedar closet everywhere you go. The coast line in Washington (we were glad to see) was open to the public and rugged and wild. We saw Bald Eagles sitting on top of a power pole, just letting the breeze ruffle their feathers. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Location: Portsmouth, NH, USA

Jan and I had a great adventure this weekend. We took advantage of the new Skybus Airline and flew to Pease International Airport (formerly Pease AFB), NH and spent the day sightseeing and sailing with our friends, Jeff and Christine Randall. Portsmouth is a cool, bustling city and Jeff and Chris are awesome people! We had so much fun! Enjoy the pictures!

Location: Ohio, USA

What a cool Mother's Day adventure Jan planned for me this year! We "hiked" over the top of the Purple People Bridge from Cincinnati to Newport, Kentucky! It was a beautiful, sunny day in the 80's.

Location: San Antonio Texas, USA

I recently accompanied Jan on a business trip to San Antonio. While there, we were fortunate enough to visit with old friends, Vicki and Fred Marks, and also Mike and Linda Reed. We also toured around the city which was so fun! The last time I was in San Antonio Jan was graduating from Officer's Training School, in 1980. It has changed so much, I didn't remember a thing except the River Walk.

Location: Kettering, USA

It's been ages since i posted any new pictures. Since June of last year, we've been renovating our kitchen and dining room here on Laurelann Drive. We are finally finishing up little touches like baseboards and molding, but the kitchen is done. I think we did very well with the inconveniences of not having water or stove for nearly 5 months. The water was hooked up finally again the day before Thanksgiving 2006. Since then, we've put down flooring, hung wallpaper, added decorating touches to make the kitchen beautiful and functional. Such a drastic change from the kitchen we started with! I hope the pictures reflect the changes and challenges!

Location: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

For three weeks in the Spring of this year, Jan and I visited South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Stone Town in Zanzibar and Nungwi Village also in Zanzibar. It was exotic and beautiful, depressing and shocking, but truly an amazing experience. There is no way to fully capture the sights, sounds and smell of this astounding continent but these pictures will give you an idea of what we experienced.

Location: Nantucket and Cape Cod, USA

Having grown up in Massachusetts, surprisingly, I have never been to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Rarely even visited Cape Cod. This past week, my mother and I had a wonderful (altho short) vacation on the Cape. We had Ed with us too which didn't limit our travels at all. We found an interesting (to say the least) hotel that was pet friendly, and took Ed with us on the ferry, touring Nantucket island and on our driving tour of the entire Cape up to Provincetown. It was warm with a lot of walking but it was worth the trip. Check out the pictures from my latest adventure.

Location: Yellow Springs, OH, USA

It's always a challenge finding a new and interesting hiking spot. Our local favorite is John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs which is adjacent to Glen Helen Nature Reserve. Ed is a frequent hiking companion (of the canine variety) and Jan, Margaret or Ian might also tag along. This particular hike was a request from Margaret (www.planetranger.com/lifeisajourney) who will reside in Whitefish, Montana this summer and wanted souvenir shots from my recent hike with Ed. It was a beautiful day, the water was rushing and Ed & I had a wonderful time.

Merry Christmas, Sue and Jan! Thank you so much for the Christmas card. I haven't looked at your travel page for quite some time. I couldn't remember your email, so this was the first place I thought of for contacting you besides snail mail. Your pictures and stories are great. It looks like you and Jan are really enjoying life and some new adventures together. And...the kitchen looks unbelievable! You guys are magicians with remodeling. You should send in before and after pictures to some kind of home life or do-it-yourself magazine. :-) Anyways, just wanted to send a big Merry Christmas to you and the family. Thanks again for my card, Sue. It brought back some wonderful memories spent with all of you.

Hi Rebecca, so happy to see your message! it has taken me 7 months to find it... (guess I don't use Planet Ranger as much as I used to). Best wishes to you and your family also!

Cool site! Just a quick update: I'm engaged, transfering to the AF Reserves, looking for a "Real Job", and moving with my fiance (AF guy) to Hanscom AFB, MA! I leave on Monday, 25 Jun to drive out there with the 3 dogs! My email is still the same ... I'll let you know when we get an address and hopefully with all your trips, maybe you guys will make it back out to MA sometime, or I'll make it out to Ohio!
Response: Hi Stacy, thanks for the message. And congratulations on all your exciting events!
