Location: Interlaken, Switzerland

Last week I went to Paris with Caiti Carrow and we had a great time. I met up with her and some of her friends with Spain. I showed them around Paris and we also did the Fat Tire Bike Tour which was a lot of fun. When I left Paris I went back to London for the night and left for Italy the next morning. We were in Florence for a night and had a lot of fun with a girl we knew from Mizzou. Then we went to Venice and Lake Como for the other 2 days. Right now I am in Interlaken and I am getting ready to go skydiving in a couple of hours so I will write more later.

It has been a little while again since I have written. This past weekend I went to Nice, Monaco, and Cannes in the French Riviera and it was amazing! It was so nice to be out of the cold rainy weather of London. Nice was not what I really expected because it was kind of dirty, but there was also a great deal of construction going on too. The beach was beautiful and I think it was the cleanest and bluest water I have ever seen in my life. It was even better than the Italian Riviera. The only downfall is the beach is rocks. On Saturday we went to Monaco and went to Monte Carlo and saw where I am going to stay with Mom and Dad in May. It is probably my favorite place in all of Europe. The town is so clean and quite and the food is amazing. Oh and the cars and yachts are out of this world. In front of the Casino there were at least 4 Ferraris, 5-6 Bentleys, and more Mercedes and Porsches than you could count. Down in the Marina was the world's 7th largest yacht which was a gift from someone to the King. All together Monaco was a cool city with a lot of little interesting parks and areas to see. On Sunday we went to Cannes and saw the theatre where they hold the film festival. It was neat to see and we saw a bunch of stars handprints around the theatre. This week for our class excursion we went to Bath and Stonehenge. Bath was really interesting because we saw the ancient Roman Baths with the Hot Spring and it was a cool old town to walk around in. Stonehenge was just one of those places where you go to just to say you have seen it. I leave tomorrow for Amsterdam for the weekend and then I am home for 2 days and then off to Paris, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria for Spring Break.

Well it has been awhile since I have written. Last week we went to Stratford upon Avon which is where Shakespeare is from, and I guess it was cool to see it one time in your life. But yes it was as boring as it sounds! This past weekend I went to Wales to an outdoor adventure camp and had a great time, except for the fact that I still have a cold. We went hiking, sea kayaking, and coasteering. I pretty much sucked at the sea kayaking because I tipped my kayak 3 times and the third time I was in the open ocean and there were some pretty big waves and I was in the frigid water for about 20 minutes which probably explains my cold. However, the coasteering was amazing. We swam through the ocean and climbed rock formations and jumped into the ocean off of the formations. It was surprisingly not that cold because we had to wear full body wetsuits and they kept you really warm. We had the lodge to ourselves and it got pretty crazy at times especially since it was one of the guys 21st birthdays. This weekend I went and saw 2 plays for my theatre class; I saw Billy Elliott and Blood Brothers. Billy Elliott was not bad, but I did not like Blood Brothers. We also went to a couple of museums this week. We went to the Tate Britain, and it was pretty cool except the staff was on strike and we didn't get to see half of the stuff. Yesterday we went to Tate Modern and saw a lot of interesting exhibits, I saw a few Picasso paintings and a really awesome Monet. Then we rode the Slides, they were so much fun. I rode the 5 story slide and the 3 story slide. I have also booked quite a few trips: Nice in 2 weeks, Amsterdam in 3 weeks, Paris Feb. 28th-March 2 with Caiti Carrow, Greece for Spring Break, and Dublin for St. Patrick's Day. Well that is all for now keep looking back for more!

This past weekend I went to Marseilles, France with some friends. I had my first experience in a European Hostel and it really was not that bad. We pretty much just did the tourist thing since it was not warm enough to go to the beach. We went to Chateau d'If which is where the book the Count of Monte Cristo is based and part of the Movie was filmed there too. We went up to a church in the City called Notre Dame de la Garde. It was quite a walk since it was the highest point in the city, but it was worth it. You could see everything! We went to a nice restaurant and drank some good French wine and some Champagne. I also had Steak Tartare which is pretty hard to describe, but is really good. It is raw red meat prepared infront of you with some different seasonings and stuff. I know it sounds pretty nasty but it tastes good. On the last day we went to the beach and walked around a little and we went and looked at another old church, Cathedral Saint Laurent, and then we headed back to London. Today I visited the Imperial War museum with my Britain and WWII class. There was a lot of interesting things to see and we are going back again in a month or two when we get a little more in depth with the war.

We started classes on Monday, they are not going to be too bad. I just have to write a lot of essays and I hate writing essays. They are going to be pretty interesting and we get to go out into London a lot, and in one of them we make a weekend trip to Paris. I have a theater class and we get to see about 9 shows. Last night we went to a music bar called O'Neils and it was a lot of fun and almost everyone from the program showed up so I met a lot more of the people. It so different over here when it comes to bars because all drinks have to poured in equal measures so the drinks have to be exactly 1 or 2 shots of liquor. It is also pretty cool that you can walk around and drink pretty much everywhere. Usually before we go out we get a beer for the walk and the tube ride. This weekend a group of us are going to Marseilles, France which is on the French Riviera, and I am really excited because I can finally use my French speaking skills. At least that French minor won't go completely to waste. Well gotta go and hope to hear from everyone soon.

Yesterday we had a pretty boring day because we met all of our professors and learned where are classes will be, and in the afternoon we had a meeting about setting up travel plans which was interesting because there are a lot of cool things to do just in the UK. After that we went to a pub and had a couple beers. Last night Gabe Taul was in town and she took me to dinner at The Ivy, and is hands down the best restaurant I have ever been to and the best restaurant in London. The food was awesome, plus I had a good time with Gabe. Today I am going to do some shopping at Harrod's and find a couple of things I need.

It is my second day in London. I arrived yesterday around 6 AM London Time and arrived at my flat around 8. Surprisingly it is not too bad. The beds and furniture are all new and we have a new computer too. So I lucked out and got a nicer flat than most of the other people in the group. We all went on a pub crawl last night and had an awesome time. Today we went on a tour of London and then have the afternoon and tonight to do whatever we want. I got a cell phone and the number is 07870945738 if anyone would like to call me, but remember the time change. I'll write again later and I hope to hear from everyone soon!
