Location: Xian, China
The Terra Cotta Warriors are truly amazing - each one of the over 6000 found has unique features - including facial features, body shape (e.g leg size) and clothes (e.g. shoes of different sizes and shapes). The horses and two charriots are also amazing with terrific detail. It is hard to believe that they went to so much trouble - they were even painted! And Xian is a very nice city. Definately worth the trip on the (very posh!) overnight train (11.5hr) from Beijing. It was even worth being "stuck" here with the snow storms blocking the trains :)
Location: Train trip in Vietnam, Vietnam
HCMC (incl Mekong Delta and the Cu Chi tunnels) - Nha Trang (diving) - Hoi An (incl My Son and dress-making!) - Hue - Hanoi - HaLong Bay (boat tour) - SaPa (hill village walking) trip
A wonderful trip in Vietnam! But once again the street crossings are the trickiest bits! But despite the chaos (number of people, motos, bicycles, stores and streets) there is much more infrastructure than in Cambodia. My favorites were seeing my first sea horses diving in Nha Trang, wondering the streets of Hoi An (and getting silk clothes custom made!), walking the hills, terraced rice fields and villages around SaPa and a boat trip on HaLong Bay. The overnight trains were great - but then again I am partial to train travel :)
Location: Siem Reap (Ankgor Wat), Cambodia
What a wonderful way to start 2006 :)
Cambodia is absolutely amazing! I love it here! The temples of Ankgor Wat are so beautiful - the ancient faces and the trees growing out of the temples are unbelievable. Siem Reap and Phonm Penh are very interesting places. But quite the road rules here ... it takes a little getting used to!

Location: A night in Singapore, Singapore
As always, Singapore is a fantastic place to visit. After arriving from Brissy, I took the afternoon to nip into town to ejoy a Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel, Laaksa for dinner and a night at the Night Safari (even had my favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream!). And to top it off I had a fantastic massage! I love Singapore! :) (see photos) Off to Cambodia now!
