Location: Walter Peak, New Zealand

Today was a day of relaxing stroles on a beautiful NZ sheep and cattle farm! we saw demonstrations of sheep shearing, and how they regroup and move the sheep, cattle and even the Red Deer from one pen or bring them down off the mountain side. The sheep look soo funny after the farmer cuts off all of its fur. we were to busy playing with the 3 day old pair of twins, baby lambs, that we missed how they spin the sheeps fur into wool. We took a long walk down an old farm road and saw lots of sheep, cattle and horses. We came back to the town and went shopping and got a bite to eat and now just trying to get some laundry done so we don't keep lugging around our dirty cloths. Thats about it we will update tomorrow.

Location: MORDOR, New Zealand

Today was the best day of the trip!!!! (according to me.....HA-HA!!!!! HE-HE!!!!) we went on an outrageous Land Rover 4X4 expedition!!! We went over rocks and through rivers and on steep cliffsides to visit some of the historic areas of NZ as well as to many film locations of all three "Lord of the Rings" movies!!! WAY COOL!! :-) Both our drivers (or adventure leaders!!) were extras in several of the movies and one actually has an appearance (be it only for 5 seconds) It was very interesting hearing all of the environmental extremes the director CHOSE to go through to leave the landscape as it was to have as little human impact as possible!!. I took loads of pictures and will drive everyone crazy showing you all exactly where we were with respect to the scenes!! YIPPEE!!! (We will get to see all three movies again!!!). Well enough of my carrying on we also have an exciting day set for tomorrow but we will explain all about it after we return from all the FUN!! Thats about it from Queenstown (or better known as MORDOR!!) so we will talk to you later.

Ciao 4 now!!

Location: Queenstown, New Zealand

Hello fellow Kiwi's! Well after an hour delay in Sydney and a very bumby ride we finally made it over to beautiful New Zealand. If you guy's think your having strange weather, today is the 2nd official day of summer and just two nights ago the mountains received a fresh coating of SNOW!!! And, to top it all off, it is about 9:30 PM here right now and the sun won't set for at least another hour and a half, go figure!! Anyway, not much going on here today but once again we have an early start tomorrow for our 4 x 4 adventure to see were the Lord Of The Rings movies were filmed. YIPEE, we can't wait for that. Then, on Monday we will be going on some other tour of a working farm to check out the local countryside here in NZ, and end off the day with a BBQ lunch NZ style. Sorry we didn't get to call today as we planned, but another surprise to us, when we got here we found out that we are another 2 hours ahead of Sydney, which brings us to a grand total of 18 hours ahead of you guys!!! We'll try to ring tomorrow morning before we head out on our adventure.
Take care everyone, we miss you guys.

Love, Norma & Matt

P.S. Someone please write something to us so we can reply and have some dialogue and know if anyone is looking at this.

Location: Sydney, Australia

G'day all from Sydney!! We finally made it to our last stop here in Australia, but I guess if we had to have one bad flight better it be a short one (2 hours with screaming and crying kids is more than enough). Our day today made up for it though. This morning we embarked on a 3 1/2 hour journey up the Harbor Bridge overlooking the entire city with exceptional views of the Sydney Opera House and the entire bay area. WOW, what an experiance. The rest of the day was spent doing some shopping and checking out the "Paddy's Market Place" in Chinatown and the Sydney Aquarium. Tomorrow it's off to the Opera house for a tour of the inside and not sure what the rest of the day will bring. We actually have one full day of leisure here to do whatever we want and that will definitly include sleeping in past 6 am. YIPEE!!!! There is so much to see and do here it is going to be hard to decide what to see and do. So, hope everyone is doing well. We're doing just fine and having a great time! Looking forward to getting to New Zealand now to finish up our vacation and getting home to see everyone. Anyway, we're signing off for now and our next update will most likely be from New Zealand!! Heading out there on Saturday morning. Take care everyone. We love and miss you all!

Location: Whitehaven Beach, Australia

Hello Again Everyone. Now we know why it is rated the number 1 beach in the world! Today we took a short and pleasant boat ride over to Whitehaven beach on Whitsunday Island. The white silica sand reflects the sunlight so it never heats up, it is like walking on very cool soft soil. Due to a jelly fish advisory, we had to wear these funky "stinger suits" if we wanted to swim in the ocean. They were kind of like a full body wet suit that also had 30+ spf proctection (pretty cool). So, we put on our suits and swam a bit and then took a nice leisurely stroll along the beach. We had a wonderful time. After getting cleaned up we decided to go play a round of mini golf (to the tune of $30 per couple...we only played one round). Had some dinner and took a nice stroll down to the marina and we are now heading back up to our room to relax and pack up for our departure tomorrow. We will be heading off to Sydney! Out time here in Australia is almost over. Sydney will be our last stop and then we will be off to New Zealand. Sad to know we have to leave Aussie land soon but are very excited to see NZ. :) Talk to you all later!!

Location: Tarzali, Australia

WOW WHAT AN EXPERIANCE!! The rainforest treehouse was absolutely amazing. We stayed at a 5 star treeshouse with our own private spa and balcony overlooking the Ithaca river and the Rainforest. We were able to hand feed the local parrots and other tropical birds as well as the snapping turtles and the brushed tailed possums, who visited us every night for dinner. We took a little ride out to Milla Milla and saw three beautiful waterfalls (took lots of pictures), went for a hike through the rainforest and went out to a small lake to look for platypus. They were really cute, alot smaller than imagined. This morning we enjoyed a relaxing brekky (breakfast in Aussie) and somehow ended up with a little bird inside our treehouse that wanted more banana. We took a scenic drive down the Gillies highway that cuts right through the rainforest (over 240 curves; this highway has Lumbard Street BEAT. Over 19 KM long). Today we are just hanging out in Ciarns and getting ready for our VERY early morning flight out to Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday's on the Great Barrier Reef. Looking forward to doing some snorekeling and possible trying out scuba diving out there. CAN'T WAIT!! GOtta run for now. TIme is running out and we need to find a currency exchange (again)...:) Having a blast out here but we miss everyone there as well!!
Talk to you soon!

Our past two days were spent in the outback and we had a blast. We saw kangaroos in the wild and got to pet a baby kangaroo. Went into lava tubes and saw lots of microbats. We are now heading off to the rain forest in Malenda for 2 nights, but first stop is taking a picture with a Koala at the Cairns zoo. Tell you more about it later!! Take Care everyone!!

Location: Cairns, Australia

Top of the world to ya from down under! With much disappointment we have left the beautiful coastline of Port Douglas and are now in downtown Cairns. The hotel here is still very nice though. Quick update on the past couple of days...Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef was not idea. Conditions here are VERY windy and the visiblity was limited although the water was very warm and beatuiful! Yesterday we took a FIRST CLASS train ride into the Kundara rainforest area. We saw some very nice scenary, several waterfalls, and we even got to pet some Koala's and Kangaroo's :) Oh yeah, we even got to feed some really cool looking birds, followed by a Skyrail cable car ride back down the mountain over the rainforest canopy! WHAT A SIGHT! We had a blast. Today has been a day of leisure in Cairns so we just took it easy and did some sight seeing. We are getting ready for our overnight trip to the Undara Lava Tubes. We are really excited about tomorrows trip (we will take lots of pictures; sorry we can't download because we forgot the cable for the camera but we will try to find one). Matt also learned how to play the Didgeredoo today...
Well, it's getting late here, or early there??? so we are going to sign off for now. Try to update you when we get back from Undara! TAKE CARE EVERYONE!!! We miss you!
Ciao 4 now,
