After breakfast, we went horse back riding, it was fun and the horses are very tame. We went out with a guide and it was really exhilirating scenery.
After the ride we left GROOTBOS and travelled to Hermanus, which is a lovely beach resort and stopped to see the BIRKENHEAD ,which is a boutique hotel, it was spectacular. All the linen was white with a spectacular view of the ocean from all the bedrooms and the lounge was open.
They also have a villa which they have recently acquired and it was beautiful and very family orientated. We had luch in Hermanus with a friend of Ian's and then made our way back to Cape Town.
That evening we had supper with other friends at Cafe Paradiso and it was a fun evening.

Left Johannesburg on a 2pm flight and arrived in Cape Town,I met my friend Ian who I was spending the next 4 days with. After we collected my luggage we went tp pick up the car rental and drive to Stellenbosch, which was our home for the next few days.
We went to La Romantica for dinner, and it was great eating fresh fish, because of the rate of exchange it was a cheap meal, and delicious.

After we departed from Dakar, it was another 8 hours of flying, there is entertainment behind all seats in economy and it helps pass the time away.

That evening I went to a restuarant in Morningside call the fishermans Cove, it was good, and you went to the counter and picked your fish and told them how you liked it, and it was brought to your table

I was hoping to get a ticket on airmiles with Air Canada to La Guardia, but there were no flights available, so I flew to Newark on the 9pm flight and slept over at the SHeraton Four Points Hotel at the airport. The hotel was not great, my room was musty and the carpet was worn and torn, there was also a bar sticking out of the bed, and everytime I got in and out of bed I knocked my ankle, which is still painful at times.
In the morning I had breakfast and made my way back to the airport with the hotel shuttle bus as I had reserved another shuttle from Newark to JFK airport for 1pm.
South African Airways departs from terminal 4 at JFK and it was a very easy check in. After check in I went downstairs and walked around, as it a duty free area and the shops are good.
I went through security and I had a half bottle of water with me, which they took away, but didnt bother with the other instruments in my overnight bag!!!!!!!!!.
We boarded the flight and I had 3 seats to myself, the flight attendants were very good and accommodating. After take off we had dinner!,I ordered Asian Vegeterian and the advantage of special meals is you alsways get fed first. After clearing away the trays, I was able to sleep a bit and after 7 hours, aprox we landed at DAKAR, my travelling companion got off and another got on.
