MapRather Amusingly the day after I wrote my last entry, it snowed. But that does prove my point that the weather here is all wrong. And unfortunately it didn't snow for very long. Anyway getting away from the weather. Last Monday and Tuesday I went down to London to see Heather. We went to the Museum of Natural History on Monday to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, which was really beautiful. Then we wandered around the museum until it closed, while walking through the mamals displays I found the most amusing stuffed animal I think I've ever seen, It was a brush-tailed possum made to look as much like a rat as possible, I took a photo which I'll post when I can. All the mounted animals are old because they don't want to have to collect more but I still thought it was funny. On Tuesday we went to the London Aquarium, which was nice but I felt the same way about it as I did about London Zoo, Not bad considering the space restrictions there are in London but when you grew up going to Sydney Aquarium it all just seems a little cramped, with only a small variety of fish. But it was good to see anyway, and when we were watching the sharks getting fed I did see one of the sharks get confused at bit one of the aquariums fish in half instead of going for the dead fish chucked in for it, which is not something you see every day. A whole corner of the very large tank filled with a cloud of blood and the fish head twitched all the way to the sandy bottom where it was eaten by another shark, the tail already being chomped on by the original shark. After that it was back to Cambridge and back to work the next day, Yuck!! But I've only got four weeks to go now before my holiday, Yay!! Not that I'm counting down or anything.
