Location: Nha Trang, Vietnam

MapPeg has left me!
Yesterday she flew back to Australia from Hanoi. I also jumped on a plane & am very happy to be in Nha Trang after our last 24hours in Hanoi. It was bloody freezing there! Well, about 10-12 degrees, wet & miserable. Life is too short to put up with bad weather...
Most shops are still closed for the Tet holiday. No one seems to want to work, but many Vietnamese people are forced to because of the threat of losing their jobs. Also, there are no penalty rates paid in Vietnam. I take so much for granted in Australia.
There is a sickening amount of government propaganda in this country. It's been 75 years since the foundation of the communist party (1930) so there are billboards & flags up everywhere. Whilst we were in Hoi An there were trucks with loudspeakers (and they were very loud!) patrolling the streets. They were playing Vietnamese music that sung about the glorious government and associated policies etc. Arrrgh! Anyway, It's my first visit to a communist country & so far it has been a revealing experience.
