Location: Gyungju City, Korea (South)

MapOne of the places I wanted to see before I left Korea is Gyungju City, the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom about 2,000 years ago. This place was full of tombs, museums, temples, and other historical sites. For those of you who don't know, Korea was divided into 3 kingdoms some 2,000 years ago (Koguryo, Baekche, and Silla). Six of us decided to go down and check this place out. We all met at the train station and took the train down. It was about a 5 hour trip. We got a room at a hostel there and dropped our luggage. Made our way around to find dinner and went out for drinks. It's a neat little place, but the night life is a bit quiet (for a Friday night). The night ended with a few drinks and we all went back to our rooms. The weather was a bit chilly at this point, so we were looking forward to a warm room....
