Location: Korea (South)

MapHappy New Year 2007!!!

We woke up at 11 am and checked out of our hostel by noon. Went for a good old-fashioned western style breakfast that included eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice, coffee, a tasty treat (there was ham too, but it was spam). After breakfast, we went to the top of a mountain on a cable car to get a view of Busan from above. An amazing sight it was. Yep!!! Then we headed to our last spot before heading home.

Before I mention this, I must provide a little background for those of you who don't know this kind of thing. In Korea, they have what we call jjim jil bang. This is a huge facility where you can sleep, eat, and relax for less than $10 a crack. Also included in this is a bathhouse. This is not like the western style ones and is not what you might think. It's totally for relaxing and cleansing yourself--just like a spa. We went to a world famous one located in Busan. Wow! This place was amazing. They had all kinds of sauna rooms, steam rooms, hot baths, cold baths, salt baths, and baths with different kinds of herbs, like jasmine, etc. I'm not sure if my words do this place justice, but it is so invigorating and relaxing and you feel cleaner than any other time. These kinds of places are also a real cheap way to go if your stuck for a hotel.

This was the last of our visit to Busan and we headed for the bus station, with a little mixup. The station we thought we were supposed to go to changed, and we had some trouble communicating with the taxi driver. It was a mad rush trying to make it to our bus on time, but we made it with about 5 minutes to spare. Got back to Ansan about 11:30 and we were back to work by 9:00 am in the morning---too early.

I'm sure everyone who was on the trip will be reading this, so I've gotta say thanks for an awesome weekend!! I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my last moments in Korea.
