Govern’s Travel Diary

Location: Camp Stewart, Kerrville, USA

MapWith the Mystic dance well out of sight, it was time for another day of gossip and idle chat, that occurs the day that follows a Camp Stewart dance.

The kids were less interested in their activities and more focused on the ins and outs of the Mystic dance.

Instead of the normal rest period antics which involve me trying my best to sleep, I instead gave lessons on how to write letters to girls to the kids in my cabin, especially letters that don't start with 'The dance last night was jumping', as one camper decided to begin his declaration of undying love to a Mystic girl.

After rest period it was time for me to begin my Herculean marathon of sporting events, which began with the first round of the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, which my team won with a comfortable 21-9, quickly followed after a 5 minute water-break, with my 2nd first fatboy match, featuring my new partner, Eian Arena, who is a bit of a whizz at Tennis, Thank God.

Me and Eian, started off well, gaining a 6-3 lead over my division leader from last term and his partner. However things took a turn for the worse, seeing me double fault for practically an entire game and Eian failing to connect properly with any of his vollys at the net. However in a nailbiting 7-1 tiebreak we emerged the victors and progressed on to the 2nd round of the Fatboy open.

The day continued as normal, and so I decided to spend my night off relaxing in the counselors lounge, watching the infamous Eddie Murphy on his 'raw' stand-up show.

Until tomorrow, bye for now.
