Location: Camp Stewart, Kerrville, USA

MapWell somehow, I managed to completely block out the sniffles, crying and moans of my fellow counselors who were awoken by the same homesick kid in the cabin at 2,3 and 4am last night. What a fantastic cabin leader I am, I told them that they should have woken me up, but they said they thought it would have been a nasty thing to do, which to be fair it would have, but then again that's why I'm Cabin Leader, to help out the campers in need of help.

My turn however was to come sooner than expected as the plague of Homesickness began to take it's toll on 2 more of my campers multiplying the floods of tears threefold whilst managing to successfully interrupt every activity that the kids took part in.

To begin with the first 5 hours of my day were a complete and utter nightmare, constantly drying tears and reassuring kids that we are not harbingers of doom and that these kids will actually see their parents again in only 8 days time. It's mainly down to the parents abilities however, which have enabled them to successfully overprotect these kids in their luxury condos and balls of cotton wool, therefore turning them into a bunch of absolute crybabies.
With this in mind it's easier to deal with the kids safe in the knowledge that it is not their fault.
