MapFirstly, EsJay, its great to hear from you and that you're ok. My thoughts and best wishes are with those affected by the recent disaster.

Having spent Christmas in Taupo, it was off to head further south and down to Wellington, taking in some more rain in the process (us Brits complain about the rain...never!). New Years Eve was spent in Picton and 2005 kicked off on New Years Day with the 3-day, 71km Queen Charlotte Track, taking in The (wet) Marlborough Sounds. Since then, it's been a trip West and South through the South Island through Nelson (rain), St Arnaud (got wet in the rain and in a river), Greymouth (taking in the Monteiths brewery tour) and the Fox Glacier (very cloudy, with a little rain thrown in - it is summer out here isn't it?).

Arriving in Wanaka, a walk in the sunshine up to Mt Roy Peak. Today its off to Queenstown.
