Location: Cafayate, Argentina

MapHello All! I am so sorry I haven't been blogging. In reality facebook is just so much easier. I post a short by line many times a week and the pictures load 100 times faster. If you have facebook and would like to befriend me, please do so!

I am not even sure what I wrote about last but I am having a great time. At times I a lonely, it is off season here, so not many other backpackers. We all blend so well you can't tell who is Argentinian.

Here is a general update. The north has been amazing. People are helpful and tolerate my terrible spanish. I have done at least three long hikes and have really enjoyed the dry dry dry hot weather. The sun has shone everyday. The food and wine have surpassed expectations.

I went to a arger city Salta and really enjoyed the fast pace. There was lots to see and do and everyday there was some kind of political action. Human rights and equality (drag queen and all), helping the homeless.... I also spent 12 hours on Tren a las Nubes (train to the clouds) It was exceptionally beautiful. And travelled to over 4400m. I had a killer headache. Then it was off to the very small town of Cachi up in the mountains. The drive there was extrodinary. After that I met a nice french couple who drove me to Cafayate where I am now. There are no buses here from Cachi so I feel lucky to have met people with a car. Tomorrow I will hike some more. Hope you are all well! Sorry for the lack of detail and pics. Hugs, T
