Cherry’s Travel Diary

Location: Mexico to Belize, USA

MapTulum is an awesome place filled with cabanas by the beach. Stayed for 2 nights and cost us $47/night. Quite expensive if you're travelling on a budget. From Tulum we took the bus to Ambergris Caye (san Pedro). We met a fellow traveller Garth who's going to Ambergris to meet up with his friends. He invited us to stay with him and generously no $$$ contribution needed. So that night we ended up sleeping on the floor of a very beautiful hotel/resort room (quite comfortable place with friendly people). Not so fond of San Pedro as the roads are dirty, muddy and dusty. It does gives a Caribbean vibe but we decided to continue on to Caye Caulker and spend xmas there. In CK there are no cars, it's peaceful and the island's amazingly small but festive. We'll stay till boxing day and we're going to take this 3 days camping/sailing/fishing/snorkelling boat tour. It's quite expensive but we figure it's the best way to see the Caribbean Islands. Besides it will take us to Placencia and from there we'll cross to Honduras and start our diving certification lessons (cheapest in the world). Christmast eve tonight, gonna get us a good meal finished off with special Belizean rum and coke mix. Feliz Navidad for tomorrow everyone...hugs and kisses
Happy holidays!!!!!
