Sheena’s Travel Diary

Location: Hunter Valley, Australia

MapWe got up early and packed to go to Hunter’s Valley a famous wine valley region of NSW. It was about 1 ½ hrs drive and we got there about 11am. The first stop was the tourist information centre to collect some maps and start some wine tasting. We hovered from one winery to the next sampling loads of different wines from white, rose, red to desert wines. Managed to visit 9 wineries and did some chocolate and cheese tasting too. Vinay is totally obsessed with everything ‘chilli’ so he dived in to try chilli chocolate, chilli wine, chilli sauce, chilli jam and chilli oils….he couldn’t get enough. It was so funny in the wineries they always asked me if I was old enough to drink and at one point the guy thought kaki was 17 and I was 15. He said to kaka ‘I thought these were your daughters’ lol. Buy the end of the day I couldn’t really taste which wines were nice or not because we were mixing the reds with the whites. We checked into our motel at about 6pm at Motto farm, (half way between Port Stephens and Hunter Valley). Relaxed for a bit and then went out for something to eat in a bar and grill.
