I've assigned myself diary writing duties as Pete and Jules are off freezing their butts off somewhere on the mountain, and I've had my first genuine blow up of the trip, and have subsequently barred skiing for the day.

Talk about OVERRATED. This skiing caper is certainly that and more. Where is the fun in strapping 2 planks of some rediculously expensive man made material to your feet and making your way down the side of a mountain, when doing the same thing on your god given backside is much more fun.

Lets just say Jules' patience has been tested and Pete's been his usual diplomatic self as they try to guide me through the intricacies of skiing. The first 3 days of skiing went reasonably well given my lack of ability, balance and co-ordination. Well enough for Jules to drag me 4km up Blackcomb for a run on the greens.

Now I didn't expect a green run to be 4m wide, pure ice, and run along a cliff top. About 1km down is when the valve finally burst, and a torrent of expletives escaped from my mouth, and a sad attempt at throwing the stocks came undone when the straps binding them to my wrists did their job and prevented them from flying over previously mentioned cliff. I then slid down the mountain to the next gondola stop on my backside.

Needless to say, an afternoon of shopping and photography eased the tension somewhat, and I've managed to calm down. Maybe I'll give it another go tomorrow........maybe.....

p.s. spread the message and read this before Jules deletes it
