MapBuenas Amigos!

Hope everyone is having a dandy time, for those of you at work, making yourselves look busy by reading this, and those of you who are procrastinating and browsing the net, welcome to my next entry. For all of my fans, enjoy...

Today I had yet another totally super, fantastically radical time. I went to Suesca, about 1 hr north of Bogota, to climb around on some rocks. I had the fine company of some amigos I met through amigos, and had a really good day of climbing. I love the feeling of butterflies in my stomach before begining a route, and the simpleness of breathing my way through the hard parts. I love the mental battle I have with myself when I think I might fall. I love the puzzle of where to put my hands and feet, knowing a possible route does exist, but it will come down to my balance, strength, and most of all, determination. Today I did a route that I didn't think I could do, and the ending was a big burst of energy that made me feel on top of the world. I really was only on top of a tiny rock in the midst of the universe, but I felt like a rock star!
As I waited for the bus to take me back to Bogota, my nose led me through a street to a stand with two lovely ladies selling chocolate covered strawberries. Could the day get any better I asked myself...
A Colombian family at the stand asked me if I was American, and I proudly told them where I came from. They then insisted on buying me some strawberries, and told me of their sons experiences in our land of ice and snow. Today was an all around feel good day, and now I am off to hopefully refine my Gringa salsa skills...my hips don't lie...no they don't...clearly I am not from around here, but hey, I try.

Look for pictures tomorrow,
Have a good day,
"keep fit and have fun!"
