Location: Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand

MapMonday night we took the ferry from Wellington to Picton and arrived in Picton at about 5am. Picton is a small touristy town and is very picturesque. Sharron and I are now going our separate ways so here is where we left each other. I bought some gumboots (Wellies) in Picton for my future farm work but thought I was being a bit short changed as they were quite short but it seems that is how they have them over here. I headed off to Manaroa the farm I am now staying at but it took me some time to get there as I was stopping about every 200 metres to take photos. I met a Scottish couple on my way who had been dairy farmers and had a good chat with them. I am staying with a young couple and there two young boys aged 2 and 1 years who I babysit. Instead of carrying apples I carrying baby boys instead. On the farm they keep sheep, beef cattle, deer, chickens, a few goats, and quite a lot of dogs. Some of the dogs are trained to be pig dogs that are used to hunt the wild pigs that roam the mountain. We ate wild pig on my first night here and the second night I ate venison, so I am eating well. On Wednesday I went to play group, yesterday I helped make a goat house and this afternoon I should be tagging some deer.
