Kim’s Travel Diary

Location: Sydney, Australia

MapThe weather has turned again from thick black cloud to warm and sunny and on Catherines suggestion, I went with her to Harbord where she works and then walked down the the beach - 10.30 on a Tuesday morning and the beach has people swimming and surfing and not all of them were golden surfers!!

I spent a very happy morning on the beach just snoozing or watching the people and even made it into the water - supposed to be 22 degrees but still felt like ice but there were breakers to jump and no one that knew me to see me playing in the surf.

Around midday, I decided to catch the bus into Manly, an island across the bay from Sydney and famous for its conifer tree avenue that was planted back in the late 1800's when Manley was a favourite sunday stroll area for the rich of Sydney. It is fasinating to see the difference in peoples attidutes when there is sunshine and beaches to play on, school is out and the beach is in.

Ferry back, old one not the faster cat and a stroll back into the city. I even got asked for directions and could answer with a yes, I know where that is - must look like I live here or could it be the sunburn?
