Location: Golden, Canada

MapIt's snowing again in Golden and the ski season is flying by! I've been in Canada for 3 months now and as usual I've got no idea where the time goes!

I'm working on the front desk of a ski lodge up the hill and it's going ok so far. I was working at another lodge doing the same thing but recently switched to the place where I am now as it is better paid. I actually do what they call the night audit shift, which is the graveyard shift - from 11pm-7am......yawn. But hey, I don't have to deal with any people, I get to use the internet as much as I want, chat to friends online (thanks to those of you who keep me entertained on MSN) and even watch DVDs. And in the morning after I finish work I do a few ski runs and then go home to sleep. At the moment I am only doing 4 shifts a week so it means that I get 3 nights off and lots of time to ski! Yay!

Last month Meghan and I took a few day expeditions to places nearby. I've loaded on some photos so check 'em out! First was Radium Hot Springs, near Radium funnily enough! Basically the hot springs are just a big outdoor hot pool, but it was nice to have a relaxing soak. Especially when the water is hot and it's -15 outside! It was pretty awesome to see the mist rising off the water and forming icicles on the rocks all around. Then we went to another place nearby called Emerald Lake, in Yoho National Park. You'll see from the photos that it wasn't Emerald when we went there cos it was frozen! In the winter it's a popular spot to go cross country skiing and in the summer it's the place for watersports. I might have to make a trip back in the summer when it is actually Emerald!

I'm living in an apartment with my friend Meghan, who I used to work with in London. Although she is moving out at the end of February and a Kiwi guy I met here is going to move in. I'm not sure how long I'll stay in Golden but at this stage I think I will be here until April sometime.

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'll update this when I have something exciting to report!
