Map.......G'day g'day.....and how'u goin?........bla bla bla .....just say g'day...g'day...g'day...and u'll be wrong!!!

Ehem...this are the words of a very aussie song i've been played once and again...during my trip to the Tablelands...far out!!! this... and other famous country aussie songs...like the one about the swagman that stopped on a billabong and carried a billy...and bla bla bla...(funy aussie words...will translate once back!)...good fun!

So, with this catchy tune in my mind, i am going to tell you about my busy days in Cairns and previous sailing trip to the Whitsundays!

The Whitsundays trip was awesome! Sun, blue waters, white sand beaches, nice people around (not kids anymore!)...i joined two hippy girls...Tania, dutch and crazy, and Mika, from Israel and even crazier (this last one enjoyed vomiting while sailing...on the sea...yuck!)....and the good thing...we stayed in a beach resort on Long Island...you know...cosy cabins with hot showers...and gorgeous buffet (all-you-can-eat!!!!)...nice coktails at night on the beach...under the stars...sorrounded by wallabies....just perfect!
To make it even better...i did my first scuba dive!!!! Feeling like a fish...i couldn't believe it would feel so good!!! just one dive...enough to get deaf again...you know...since i did surf...i had one ear blocked...and couldn't hear anything at all...and now, after the diving...again! boof! I might do more diving or snorkelling in the next few days...as my ear is getting better now!

Back in Ailie Beach...took a bus...ten bloody long hours to get to Cairns...where i am staying at the moment.

My first day here i went to Kuranda...a pretty village one hour away from Cairns...got there with the skyrail..such a beautiful scenery...amazing rainforest..looooovely! Once there i went to the Butterfly Sanctuary, the biggest in Oz, and loved the blue Ulysses butterflies! Back to Cairns, this time with the scenic train...through the forest...could admire some waterfalls and increidible views!

After this, i spent the last two days in the Tablelands around Atherton...again a wicked trip! Funny people, beautiful accomodation lodge, amazing landscapes...wow! This time we did loads of rainforest walks and spotted many animals in wild...such as the musky-rat kangaroo, stopped in three nice waterfalls, went for a chilly swim in one of them...chilly chilly! Could see incredible fig trees...one thousend year old and 50meters high trees with funny roots and shapes...massive and really impressive!AT dusk we sat on the shores of a creek and...without saying a word..we stayed there until it was dark and the stars came out. Could hear the frogs, the crickets...and all the nocturnal animals...it was one of this magic moments hard to forget. We tried to spot platypuses...withouth success...they're so shy!
Anyway, the second day, yesterday, did some cyclying on the countryside before stopping for a swim in a lake, the did some canoeing and saw loads of wildlife. Birds, water dragons, fish, even one tree Kangaroo! Yes...they say we were very lucky to spot one as they are nocturnal and rarely seen during daytime.
So folks, loads of fun, even at night, when we joined the locals for a drink in the main pub of Yungaburra, where we were staying. Lucky again, the next day we could enjoy wandering around the famous markets held once a month. Really nice!
Today is a break-day for me, you know...laundry day...writing...reading...relaxing.- ..maybe booking a trip to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree for tomorrow...we'll see!
Let you know soon...i am having so much fun now!!!
