MapSunday night, I'm still basking in the glory of Michigans latest win...

I have two die hard michigan fans i work with, one is the generals aide which is kinda cool for a navy guy, he sets up a michigan banner, hat, he has an ipod playing the fight song...He sets up the game on the big screen conference room at work, and we all joined him about 11pm saturday night...My sister sent me a michigan hat, some michigan plates and napkins, we had a regular tailgate party in the conference room!

Unfortunatly the game wasnt televised, so Anthony connected to some sports websites and we just "watched" the game thru these sites...watching the game consisted of a little football which would move up and down the field, and there would be descriptions that pop up and say what happened..."Mike Hart 5 yard run" or Penalty off-sides....It really is pretty sad but we had a good time together and "watched" the first half like that...

Michigan was up at halftime, i went back to my room about 12:30 and it turns out the game was actually televised on my home tv, i'm not sure why not on the worksite tv....It was a heck of a game, michigan looked to be losing again but they came back in the end...

We had that and the HUGE Navy victory over Notre Dame...Not since Roger Staughbach was at the naval academy has navy beaten notre dame...that was pretty exciting conversation today too...

More people are leaving that i've been friends with here, thats kinda the way it goes...When you first get here people are leaving that you dont know or really care about, but the longer you are here, the more people you care about are leaving...Kinda reminds me of the Sound of Music, So Long Farewell, you have 9 or 10 kids and each one leaves is a little sad, but it sucks being the last guy there standing alone...I'll hit that point here in next couple weeks, we have two more from my office leaving and two new guys coming in...We've been telling each other "I cant wait for you to go" which sounds a bit mean but really we are happy for eachother and more importantly, we are that much closer to leaving ourselves...I'm definately looking forward to that...

I swear to god October seemed to have 40 days in it, really dragged on but november should be a little more exciting, new people in the office and kinda interested to see what they do for us for thanksgiving out here..usually they try to do a little something special...

thank you again for all the emails and notes,
rick
