MapHey!!

Happy Thanksgiving all!! Finally had some exciting things happen, and added some photos too! Last weekend was Michigan Ohio State game...Its been a rough season, I had some hopes they could win at home, but alas, not true...Only good news is it cemented the fact we will get a new coach, and I'm really hoping they are smart enough to get Les Miles from LSU...Great Sign at recent michigan basketball game...."U of M need new CARR, one with LES MILES"....Thats my holiday wish!!

Thanksgiving was going to be painful, most places shut down for the day over here, we were not...I woke up early for a 10K turkey trot, i really didnt expect many people but we had about 300 which was surprising! We talked a couple people from our command to join us, and had a great time doing that...I thought that was going to be the highlight for my day...

Arriving at work, the genreals aide came to us and said Sen McCain is in the area and wants a discussion with our general on a certain topic. That was going to cause a lot of pain for us today, about five minutes later the generals secretary came back and asked me if we had any information for the general yet. I was about ready to hit her square in the nose on thanksgiving day, nice older lady, but I said YOU JUST TOLD US FIVE MINUTES AGO! She said the meeting was canceled! I gave her a big hug...nice way to start the day...

They also asked if i would serve on the lunch line in the dining facility, they usually like officers to do that for special days...Turns out I had a great time, I was the roast beef station, got to wear a cool mesh metal glove and slce the roast beef while other less talented individuals like the general slopped out the mashed potatoes....Those cooks could spot talent in me I guess! Great time talking to the people going thru the line, really was a rewarding experience....I included some photos in the webpage too...

We are hoping to get out of here by about 5pm today, going down to the embassy dining facility for dinner, its a little nicer, and they have a heck of a menu for tonight...We've got a good dinner group and should be a memorable day.....

Hope you are all having a great thanksgiving, thanks for all the wonderful emails and letters, it really does keep me going,
