MapLate to rise today...7 a.m. Alton and Don (Alton's nephew) went to Deep Creek w/ Bob Jones 5:30 a.m. to test the waters for Silvers. Bob had caught '1' yesterday and the word was out at the Senior Center that 'Robert has caught his limit for several days'. Robert turns out to be Bob Jones and he has only fished yesterday. That goes to show you that scoop is not trustworthy around here, eh?
We trekked on up to Ninilchik yesterday a.m. from Homer in time to go clamming on the -3 tide. Slim pickings at firs, but managed to scrounge 60 razor clams for a batch of clam chowder and for freezing for future reference. It was an all-day affair. We left at 10 a.m. and finished cleaning around 4 p.m. The remainder of the day, Gwynne tried to win back some money owed to Alton for gin games of the past. All in bed by 9:30 p.m.
We managed to squeeze in a luncheon date at the Senior Center....Alton, Gene, Gwynne, me, and yes.....even Audrey. Gwynne & I joined for $20. The meals are massive, delicious, and $5 for members. Audrey pays $8. The age to join is 45 years old. So anyone out there that is 45 years old, you are considered a senior citizen in the eyes of the Ninilchik Senior Center. They have retirements homes here, 5 of them, rent based on your income....they do the upkeep. I'm thinking about it!
Audrey, Gwynne, Don, & I are currently washing clothes and will be meeting Alton once again at the Senior Center for Chicken Parmesean today at noon.
We will be uploading pictures as soon as the center calls us in to give us the code for wireless use. Until then, the pictures and videos of clamming and the rest will have to wait.
Keep those comments coming. We love to hear what you have to say.
