Alaska’s Travel Diary

Location: USA

MapArose in shifts after a sleepless night on my end….neighbors in the 5th wheeler were moving to the 2-story cabin at 10:30 last night back and forth. I woke at 7:30, Gwynne at 8:30, and Dylan at 9:15 a.m. Gwynne and Dylan spent some quality time on the computer installing and playing a dinosaur game purchased on the road up weeks ago. Gwynne is quickly finding Dylan’s capabilities far surpass his age level. That’s my boy!
We dressed for our road trip to WalMart (yet again) in Kenai, stopping at the P.O., Moose is Loose Bakery (only to find them closed on Mondays), and the Ninilchik library to return some dvds and rent new ones. This process takes several hours. We left around 10:45 and returned at 2.
As we pulled out of the driveway to leave, we stopped by the cleaning table where Bob was supervising a handful of people cleaning clams. This is a group Bob was asked to line up a charter with his next door neighbor. They hail from the White House and/or D.C…..One is the pianist for the White House and has been for the past 10 years. Apparently there is a ‘small’ minus tide this week. He has said we can join him Thursday. We shall see.
Gwynne worked with clients via Face Time in front of Bob’s house from her car as Dylan and I stayed back at the house playing. Memaw put his Lincoln Logs together, this time more permanently…..with Liquid Nails. He has relocated many of his toys upstairs since the Bearor’s have vacated the area.
Tomorrow we will have enchilada lunch at the Senior Center. I guess I’ll break down and join for $25 as I’m told it is cheaper paying $6 a meal as opposed to paying $10 each time….makes sense to me. However, Gwynne and I have made so much food that we have enough leftovers to last ME for a week! (Jennifer)
