MapClaudia has come and gone....things were getting back to normal with same routine...eat, sleep, crochet, watch dvds, play with Dylan....until Alton called and said to be ready to go fishing today at 10. I did not hesitate to say 'yes'. Ten in the morning...instead of 4:30 in the morning...that's my kind of fishing. Gene is out on a boat fishing for Halibut this a.m., thus the delay in departure for Sockeye. Wish us luck.
We had Alton and Gene over for a late lunch both Saturday and Sunday, probably soon to be a weekly ritual since the senior center is closed. However, it cannot interfere with fishing. Fishing DOES come first. Gwynne fixed a roast with all the fixin's plus a spaghetti squash Alton had carried in his luggage, along with sliced home-grown tomatoes. For dessert she prepared a banana pudding we found online which had 5 stars out of 5 stars. It WAS!
While the Joneses are gone, I had the task of watering the plants in the greenhouse every other day. I've stayed on top of it. Yesterday, Bob called to check on things and also to ask me to go drop the flag in his front yard to half-mast in memory of those who lost their lives in the Colorado massacre. I took Dylan with me, trying to explain what was taking place. I think he is still a bit young to understand.
For the first time, Dylan fell asleep on Gwynne's lap on the couch at 8:00 p.m. He had had enough excitement for one day. (Jennifer)
