MapFished late on Monday....2 p.m. until 5ish....1 for Alton, 1 for Gene, 1 for me. Gene had trouble with his car upon returning to Ninilchik, so there was no fishing Tuesday. He thinks it is the starter. Yesterday...I arose at 3:15 a.m. to be ready for the boys to pick me up at 4 to drive 40 miles to our fishing hole (Alton and I started walking across the street to start the trail and I yelled "STOP!"....there was a cow moose and one calf only 20 feet away from us.....we gave her the right of way.)...Gene and I were fishless. Alton caught one. The problem was....everyone else around us was catching their limit. It was frustrating to us all. Bob is taking me to Dixie's today. This is a place where you don't have to fight for position to fish, so I'll have no excuse.
We picked up the part for Gene's car to be fixed at our local filling station in Ninilchik. I treated Alton to a cup of Starbuck's bold coffee at Fred Meyer's. When we returned home, Gwynne, Dylan, and I planned our day....we would spend a couple of hours in Homer at Ulmer's, Laundrymat, to eat lunch. We stopped in Anchor Point at The Blue Bus to test out their burgers. Claudia and I had visited a few days earlier. We shared sweet potato fries, and each had a bacon burger advertised to have bacon in every bite....it did! Dylan walked around looking at their collection of cookie jars, opening up every one to see if it had cookies. Upon leaving Ulmer's with our $1 toy Dylan vowed to stick to, I decided to use their RR. Bad decision. Dylan found a BIGGER and BETTER toy he could not live w/o. Grandma could! Needless to say, Ulmer's probably doesn't want us back there. I had to drag him out of the store screaming. YIKES! (Jennifer)
