Jen and Jan’s Travel Diary

Wednesday, 14 Nov 2007

Location: Morro de Sao Paulo, Brazil

MapOla, bom dia amigas...see we already know enough porteguese to get us around the country. Even tho when Jen was asking for the toilet she was led to an actual shower...she used the ocean instead. So the two languages do differ, and we are finding it increasingly challenging to make our way around Brazil, but it keeps us on our toes and we are still having the time of our lives.

After Salvador we hopped on a ferry to Morro de Sao Paulo, an island 2 hours off the coast of Brazil. We basically lived the life of celebrities for 3 days, lounging on our beach chairs, having water poured on us when we were hot, drinks (namely pina coladas and coconuts) being served to us, and food being thrown at us left and right (Our new favorite food, to the discust of Jens boyfriend is roasted cheese on a stick)..our toughest decision was what time to roll our lazy bums over and tan the other side. Needless to say, it was hard to leave!! But alas, our adventure must continue as we only have 5 weeks to get back to Peru so we can fly home to the snow and all of your lovely faces.

On to Itacare, a small surf town 7 hours south of Salvador where the Billabong Womens Surf Championship was held. Hopefully we can hang ten, or Jan can hurt herself so some buff Brazilian surfer can come to her rescue..both sound fun!

Life is short, the list is long...see you all very soon! xo
