Location: Sydney, Australia

MapUnderpants, underpants, underpants. I guess they're pretty important, otherwise I wouldn't bother making so much of an effort to come home from work early just to wash a bunch of them in anticipation of our impending trip (of spooky doom).

Well, this is it. This is the trip I've been waiting for, for at least the last third of my life. Drawn by gadgets, gizmos and the electronics they have which we won't get here for at least another seven years, I've always wanted to go to Japan. It's hard to believe that in about 48 hours, I'll actually be there. I think my only only concern is that I've set my expectations too high, but even if these expectations aren't met, I'm sure I'll still have a blast of a time since this is the very first time I've been overseas without my parents. I could explode with excitement, but I hope I don't... the other boys will have to clean it up and deal with a ruined holiday.

The inventory list is written out (on the back of envelope, of course). The todo list has everything checked off (including the washing of underwear). My ipod is full of music and my camera has a full charge. Now I just have to wait for my washing to dry, then I can ram it all into my pack.

My travelling companions are Nick and Bryan. I'd write up their stats but that is just going to take too much effort, so if you don't know them, you'll just have to wait for the photos to go up and figure it all out for yourself.

The trip (as outlined in the summary) is somewhat of a whirlwind tour of Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido and Tokyo, with some skiing stuffed in the middle. Given that we'll be having way too much fun during the entire trip, I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to post. My first proper entry probably won't be until early next week, unless the airport at Osaka is tremendously huge and I just _have_ to tell everyone about it =)
