Location: surf camp/byron/surfers, Australia

MapHad such a brilliant week. Ok so we left really early from Sydeny and drove for a solid 8 hours. We were heading for surf camp which included a free surf lesson. I was so excited but slightly nervous as it looks well hard.
When we arrived we checked into what you can just called a tin can. As it was pouring with rain it sounded like we were in a caravan. Very difficult to sleep!!
At 6.00am we were woken up for our surf lesson!! It is really hard. You need such upper arm strangth it unbelieveable. I managed to stand a few times but then fell off after a few wobbles. Ben stood up loads, what a pro!! What was really cool is we had a pod of dolphins swimming with us. was soo cool.

After warming up we headed to Byron Bay which is 2 hours north of surf camp. Its a little beach town right on the sea. Its full of tiny little shops. No big brand names are allowed here, Byron likes to keep it local.
Once we had settles in we took a day trip to Nimbin. Nimbin is a hippie town located slightly inland from Byron. Its full of crazy little shops and even more strange people!! Once we had left we stopped by a massive waterfall. our tour guide said it was safe to jump off so Ben was straight up there!! Looked far too cold for my liking!!
Once we arrived back at Byron we rushed upto the lighthouse, which is hte most easternly point of Oz. Its whale migration season and at dawn and dush the whales can be seen swimming alon the coastline. We were lucky enough to see around 4 humpback whales and a pod of dolphins.
We arrived in Surfers Paridise around 6.00pm and the Aussies call in Surfvegas as it loud and never sleeps. It had an amazing beach and great shopping. Just a shame I couldnt take advantage of it!! We had very little time here as our bus left the following morning. We managed to squuze in some crazy golf, and I won!!!! We found a casino and gambled a few dollars but lost!! Damn it!!
