Location: Cascais and Sintra, Portugal

MapToday we drove west of Lisboa to the very pretty town of Cascais which has a nice town centre, a lovely marina and beach and has many stately homes with views over the ocean. Then we drove out to Capo da Roca, the most westerly point in continental Europe. Later we drove to Sintra, a World Heritage town spread out across a valley. We were a bit disappointed to find many buildings in poor repair but there was a few including a palace that warranted photos. There was also a Moorish fortress on the top of one of the hills but we didn’t have time to visit it as we had to continue our journey to Porto (Oporto) where we are staying tonight.
