Maurice Greer’s Travel Diary

Location: Salamanca, Spain

MapParked close to the old town walls and headed off to explore the city. There are so many noteworthy buildings, churches, the cathedral, the Plaza Major, the University, most in golden sandstone which gives them a warm glow. We took the cathedral tour which allowed us to access the balconies and roof area with great views of the interior and the architectural details of the spires. The Plaza Major is a bit smaller than the one in Madrid but it has some very nice building details and the sandstone colour makes it special. After a long day walking, we drove back to Madrid, commenting that we could enjoy this travelling!
