MapWe have a problem with our laptop and the screen does not display. Hope we can get it sorted out soon. We started our tour today on the Old Town square side of the river and saw many more elegant buildings from the 19th century as well as a striking modern addition to one building along the river. We then walked across the Charles Bridge to the hilly western side where the Prague Castle stands. We spent several hours visiting a monastery, various churches, the castle and the cathedral within its walls. We watched the changing of the guard at the main castle gate. We also walked to the top of another nearby hill which has an iron tower structure, similar in shape to the Eifel Tower, as well as a garden and a mirror maze. Part of the hill has a selection of fruit trees which seemed to be growing wild. Later we crossed back over the river and walked through the Old Town square again to an old tower gate and the adjoining Municipal House which is a very fine example of Art Nouveau architecture from 1905. We had dinner nearby and headed back to the hotel on the tram again after a long day sightseeing.
