Location: Klagenfurt, Austria

MapYesterday we picked up some groceries for our short stay here and rested at the hotel after some long walking days during the past week. Today we drove into Klagenfurt centre to tour the town. We started out at the Dom which was quite plain on the outside but beautifully decorated in the rococo style on the inside. Then we walked through some busy shopping streets and a series of squares containing some more notable buildings of baroque and 19th century architecture including the Rathaus, the Landehaus and a few more churches with very nice interiors. Klagenfurt is in a beautiful location, on the eastern end of Lake Worthersee and nestled in a valley surrounded by nice wooded hills and mountains. We found the town centre very pleasant to walk around.
