Corey and Nicki’s Travel Diary

Friday, 23 Oct 2009

Location: Wilmington, England

MapWe are now back after our night away and we managed to fit a lot into our two days!

Yesterday we drove to Chatwell (Winston Churchill's house) and had a look around then on to Knole (another National Trust property), which also features a deer park.

We stayed the night for free at the Royal Oak Hotel in Sevenoaks, thanks to a prize my father had won at a mayoral function earlier in the year. Unfortunately I was a little ill in the evening but luckily felt OK again today when we got up.

We had breakfast then headed to Hever Castle, where we spent a few hours looking round. We then decided there was just enough time to fit in Ightham Mote (a Tudor house) too, so we stopped there for an hour or so before driving home.

We will go out somewhere over the weekend but we haven't decided exactly what to do yet.

Monday we'll have a quiet day to get ready for our 4 night road trip on Tuesday - we are also seeing "Blood Brothers" at the Orchard Theatre in the evening on Monday.

Corey did all the driving the last two days since I was a bit ill - but I will drive more as well next week. The little (banana) car goes OK...
