Location: Baghdad, Iraq

MapHello All,

Well, I finished a two day conferenec yesterday and today that dealt with the "Responsible Drawdown" of Iraq. There were about 10 Generals there and another 200 people from all over Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar. It was chaired by Gen Odierno's Deputy 3-Star general.

The gist of the conference was how to manage drawing down from 130,000 troops now to only 50,000 troops by the end of Aug 2010. There is SO much to consider...closing bases, cleaning them up and turning them back over to the GoI (Government of Iraq). Plus, there is over 1.5 MILLION pieces of equipment that need to come out of Iraq as well as 80,000 troops...all in the next 9 months. So, that is how my "weekend" kicked off. Looking forward to watching OSU and Michigan tonight. Take care and feel free to ask questions or leave a message.
