MapHi \everyone
Obviously we have not had access to a computer for a while as we enjoy the African wilds! After a couple of nights being well cared for by Mike's brother Gavin & his wife Meg In Johannesburg we embarked on our safari. The camp was a 50 min drive from Kasani over rough tracks which we took 2 1/2hours to negotiate with detours to watch the varied wildlife. The highlight was the 2 families of giraffe so plenty of photos for you Maree! We were met by the staff singing a song of welcome & greeting us with very welcome cool flannels & taken to our tents which were our homes for the next 3 nights, surprisingly comfortable with a loo & a bucket shower. First night we heard al the bush sounds & the last we were kept awake by hippos sloshing around about 10metres from our tent all night!!! The whole experience was more than awesome with each outing bringing a new surprise including sitting within spitting distance of 4 lions (they had just filled up on a buffalo), negotiating a mother hippo with her baby on a narrow patch of the stream in a mokoro ( dugout canoe), herds of elephant of elephant & giraffe etc, etc. So much to tell you.
We are now at breakfast in the Safari Lodge in Victoria Falls before going to the falls for the day. Lots of photos & I'm finding my way round the camera with constant use. All pretty well & enjoying so many new experiences that I never imagined in my dreams.
