Elaine and Peter’s Travel Diary

Wednesday, 06 Aug 2014

Location: Etosha, Namibia

MapToday has been a very long day but such an enjoyable one. We were collected from the lodge at the crack of dawn by an open vehicle and taken on a fabulous ten hour safari, travelling right through the national park. The highlight was the lion kill surrounded by a load of jackals just waiting for their chance to get a share of the spoils.
We spent the day travelling from waterhole to waterhole marvelling at the animals. We missed the leopard crossing the road by two minutes, so he is the only animal that we have missed.

Tonight we are at the eastern gate of the park at the lovely Mokuti Lodge. This is excellent, thatched cottages to a high standard. Service and food excellent. We have spent the last hour of the evening round a log fire in the grounds! A very civilised way to end the day.
