MapPerforming Arts Explosion

Hello everyone! I apologize I have not been writing as frequently. My days are entirely full of reading and schoolwork so I often find myself behind. In any case, my past two days have been a performing arts explosion! A few friends and I signed up for free waltz lessons at the MEC on Friday night. It was well worth it! Although we only understood a few words of the instructions (in French), my partner Tommy and I tore up the floor. We both have a bit of experience in dance so that might have helped; I with ballet and Tommy with Ukrainian dancing and polka in Saskatoon, SK. Heather and Sarah bailed halfway through the class, but Tommy and I stuck it out to the end. Perhaps we will practice in the hallways of the MEC if we're bored. I know there were paparazzi around that evening so if I find photos of us I will post them here.

Kas woke up on Saturday morning and had an urge to see the circus that was in town. Not an urge to suppress! For 15 euros we had fabulous seats to a spectacular show of trapeze artists, contortionists, diabolo tossers, acrobats and more! It was a hike to get out to the east end of the city, but easy enough with our trustworthy Metro maps. It was an international competition and we got to see the 2nd half of the acts competing for the grand final on Sunday. Our hearts skipped a beat when we saw that a Canadian had made it to the show; sadly her performance was not on the day we attended. Please enjoy the photos and video of our Saturday afternoon trip to the circus!
