Location: Bangkok, Thailand

MapWow Bangkok is hot! Real culture shock arriving there! (This was, however, helped by the plush airconditioned hotel!)
Our first day of exploring included a crazy taxi journey, a tuk tuk, a fly train and a lovely boat ride down the Mae Nam Chao Phraya River. The city is a hive of activity - streets are lined with stalls selling food and souveniers. It was sweltering while we were there, so decided to move on quite soon after arriving..

My observations of Bangkok:
-Do drivers not understand road lanes?
-Everyone appears to speak English and all signs are in English, so easy to navigate!
-Thai peope were very polite and helpful to us!
-Monks in orange robes! :)
-Suddenly feel even taller and paler than normal..
-Adverts for Boots sun lotion on underground
-Adverts for skin whitening lotion!
-Mercedes and Audis driving along side battered pick up trucks crammed full of people.
-The city is an amazing mix of sky-scapers, shacks and temples
-Lots of middle-aged western men wandering around on their own (looking for Thai wives?)
