Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

MapTwelve hour bus journey from Bangkok to Siem Reap (Cambodia) was not the most comfortable of my life! Started in an airconditioned coach (was v pleased), continued with a truck, a good deal of walking across the border(in 40C), a tuk tuk and then a mini bus. This mini bus took us along what Cambodians very nicely call a 'dancing road'. Think my spine was compressed an inch or two by the end!
Siem Reap has the most amazing temples nearby - one where Tomb Raider was filmed. Was a fantastic experience and would throughly recommend! Also got to have a lovely chat to one of the Buddist Munks! In the afternoon it rained!!! I stood outside and drenched myself. It was so good to feel the rain on my skin and to feel cool for the first time in days!
Wonderful bars in Siem Reap full of really friendly backpackers from all around the world! Great to chat with people and get ideas on where to go and what to do..
Six hour bus journey this morning from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Again, not great as had Cambodian Karaoke blasting out at full volume from the speaker above my head throughout!
Staying at a hostel looking out over the lake at Phnom Penh at the mo. It is beautiful. Spent the afternoon reading and sipping water on the verandar. Will have an little explore this eve (when it's cooler) and will head down to the beach at Sihanoukville tomorrow. Really in need of relaxion and a tan!!
