Location: Hervey Bay - E Coast, Australia

MapOoh I'm loving Australia! Spent a few days in Brisbane which is strangely like in Enlgland, but better weather and a few subtle differences. Had a quick explore of the city and laughed at the street signs to a town nearby called 'Ípswich'.
Jumped on a Greyhound and headed north to Hervey Bay - really relaxed little town on the coast. We have just returned from a 3-day self drive tour around Fraser Island which is the biggest sand island in the world, located just off Hervey Bay. Was the most challenging and fun thing I have done in my life! Eleven people, one 4x4 Toyota LandCruiser, and only four people passed their test! This meant that Elevena and I were behind the wheel a lot of the time driving dirt tracks, sand dunes, and on the beach (which is a registered highway!) Some pretty scary moments, but managed to not bog the vehicle and not roll it over!! Saw fantastic beaches and lakes, ship wreck and sharks. Camped every night and cooked dinner on a little camp stove. I have never seen a night sky so full of stars, it was incredable. One of the guys brought his didgerydoo and I discovered that I have an innate talent! :) Returned last night exhausted and covered in sand. The most wonderful experience I will never forget, and really proud of myself for being so resourceful and brave for 3 days! Jumping on the Greyhound again tomorrow. Not sure where we'll go - see how we feel tomorrow!
