Lauren & Georgia’s Travel Diary

Sunday, 08 May 2011

Location: Paris, France

MapWhat a beautiful Sunday in Paris. Especially to celebrate Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day Mum. I hope being in Paris will suffice as we didn’t get you a present. Georgia and I did decide to cook breakfast for Mum and Dad though. First stop – butcher. I guess I thought that people would speak a little more English than they do. I told Mum this. She told me that they expect me to speak a little more French than I do. Good point. We somehow managed to buy some ham and potato rosti. Well I think that is what they were. Tasted good anyway. Second stop – bakery. Got some freshly baked croissants and baguettes. Last stop – supermarket. Needed some eggs. Came home and cooked breakfast. Was a pretty decent effort we thought, I think Mum and Dad appreciated it. I especially loved the croissants, nothing beats them!

We haven’t done much else today. Mum and Dad have also come down with a cold now so it has been nice to laze around the apartment and have a nap here and there. Georgia and I went for a walk before and had a beer. I enjoy people watching. Everyone is so relaxed, I guess as it is a Sunday. I love the children over here. They are all so gorgeous in their own ways, especially when they speak French. Has almost made me want to meet a French man! I am in the city of love after all.

I am not sure what the plans are for tonight, will be eating out as all of the supermarkets are closed. Not really sure why as they were opened this morning. Mum found a nice looking Italian restaurant yesterday and I think she is keen to try it out. Will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

By the way – I just found out that my blog is in the top 5 for the most viewed for this month. Keep an eye on it so I can get to number 1! Also leave me a message so I know who is checking it out.
