Location: Bangkok, Thailand

MapFlying with Thai Air, it was convenient to take a one-night stopover in Bangkok, 6 hours ahead, to help with the jetlag. The theory is that getting out and walking the streets when your body thinks it it is 3 to 7am helps you to adjust!
It is very hot and humid, and the streets are teeming with people and traffic (for anyone who has been here, this will not be a surprise). However, I wandered around for a few hours, getting myself to the Golden Buddha Temple, and managed to avoid a torrential downpour which must be a frequent occurrence here.
The atmosphere here is very friendly, and there is no harrassment from street traders, unlike some other big cities I have been to.
So, this afternoon it is back to the airport for the onward leg to Auckland and several hours more adjustment for the body-clock.
New Zealand and RWC 2011 here we come!
