Location: San Ignacio, Belize

MapToday, we headed of to Spanish lookout to get the chance to see more Mennonites, in their rural community. Unfortunately, the bridge that leads to Spanish Lookout was covered by the river and there was no chance of our little car getting across. So, we turned back with our heads down in dissapointment, but soon our frown was turned upside down when we caught a glimpse of Hot Mama's Pepper factory... things were about to heat up!!!

We met a local lady named Michelle, who gave us a tour of the garden that grew the fascinating peppers and herbs. We then went around the factory where they turned the chillies into Chilli sauces.

They mash up the chillies with vinegar and salt and store them in big barrels for a minimum of 6 months....this gives them their flavour.

At the end we had the chance to try the different levels of heat by dipping in nacho's. My Dad tried the second hottest pepper in the world and his mouth was on fire until the next day!!!
