MapDay 4 Barcelona.
Early coffee at Starbucks but not much open until about 9.30. Walked to La Sagrada Familia about 2 k from hotel. This was started about 100 years ago but still not finished. Many cathedrals in Europe have taken hundreds of years to build. This one Designed by famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Big crowds lined up to go thru but we check it out from outside only as we have seen many big cathedrals. Warm day around 30 and sunny. Walk back to Catalunya Placa to get onto our bus tour of the city including Montjuic, famous as venue for 92 Olympics. We see great views out over the city and port and have paella for lunch at nice restaurant in a small village near the top. Get back to hotel about 3 and decide to be like the Spaniards and have a little siesta ready for a big night. Found a nice little bar near Placa Jaume and had drink before finding a restaurant in a nearby square and had tapas. 10 different dishes for 10 each. Very good value and plenty. With the way they do it here you could go to 5 different places in a night and have a different dish and still not have to pay a great deal.
