Location: The South, Vietnam

MapAfter relaxing for 6 days at Mui Ne Beach, it was time to hit the city again - Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City). We spent a day looking around the various museums, the most interesting being the war remnants museum (formally the american war atrocities museum). Although being a bit biased, it does show you in graphic detail the suffering the Americans inflicted on the Vietnemese during the war and the legacy that lives on today, in terms of victims of agent orange and the impact this has had on their children.
We also paid a visit to the Cu Chi tunnels where the Viet Cong used to live and hide from the Americans. We got to go through a small section of the tunnels which was very claustrophobic - it must have been a nightmare living in them.
Leaving Saigon, we took a 3 day tour of the Mekong delta on our way up to Cambodia. This area had some really beautiful scenery which we got to explore by taking various sized boats around the rivers and canals. We also got the chance to try some 60 percent proof bananna whisky, eel and Sheena had some snake wine!
