Tim’s Travel Diary

Saturday, 12 Jul 2003

Location: Metcalfe Rock-Bruce Trail, Canada

MapAnother day trip....
Yasin and Mo arrived late, as usual, to prepare for a day of exploring and hiking the Bruce Trail near Collingwood, Ontario.
After some brief excuses and some discussions of which route would be best to get there, we jump in the cars and head towards the roads.
Take highway 26 through Collingwood, which turns into Grey County Rd 2. Continue along this to Grey County Rd 19 and follow this til it ends.
We parked the cars and looked up at the cliffs and crivices we would be exploring for the day. Wow.
The path leading up began on a wide and easily travelled trail. It soon began to climb steeply up the rocks. Marianne and Tim quickly made the climb to the top, eager to see the view from above.
Once everyone made it to the top, we followed the treelined path to the first lookout point. What a view! A few snapshots and we were off to expore the cliffs and caves.
We spent the afternoon exploring and took many pictures. Tim had a great deal to show and share with the group as he had camped here the year before.
On our way home we had a quick stopover in Wasaga Beach as Yasin and Mo had never been. We did some shopping and wandered along the sandy beach, as the sun began to set. Once dark we headed home to discuss the adventures of the day!
